The Birtley Hub is a Resource Centre for the local community.

If you can spare just a few hours per week, we’d love to hear from you!
We are a warm space where you can pop in to keep warm, have free teas, coffees, biscuits and cup a soup with bread bun. We have free wifi and computer access or you can charge your phone. You can sit and read a magazine or have a chat with our friendly volunteers. Please pop in and see us. Everyone welcome.

Printing and Photocopying
We have a printer/scanner/photocopier for all of your printing needs. We can print in A4 or A3, in colour or black & white and can also scan documents and send to an email address. We have a laminator to laminate documents and posters in A4 or A3.

Emergency Food Support
If you are finding things a bit of a struggle at the moment please get in touch with us. We can help you with an emergency food parcel.
We receive food donations from various local businesses and from individuals in our lovely community.
If you are able to donate then we are always grateful to receive dried or tinned food items such as:
- Tea
- Coffee
- Sugar
- UHT milk
- Pasta
- Soup
- Cereal
- Tinned meat
- Rice pudding
- Gravy granules
- Tinned veg
- Cat/dog food
- Dried potato mix

Tea and Coffee
We are proud to be part of the Warm Spaces initiative, and we welcome you to pop in for a warm drink and a friendly chat. We provide free tea, coffee, hot chocolate & biscuits. We hope to see you soon!
Citizens Advice Gateshead
Citizens Advice Gateshead are able to offer appointments here at The Hub. They provide free, impartial advice and information. Please contact us to arrange a referral.
Meeting and Training Room

Food Bank Vouchers
We can refer you to the local foodbank for a food parcel. Come along and ask for a voucher.
Trips and Events
At The Birtley Hub we organise trips throughout the year. We arrange social nights and also the Christmas light switch on.
Public Computers
2 brand new free to use public use computers available for anyone to use. We also have volunteers here each day if you need any support on the computers from searching online or setting up and sending emails. Also free WIFI.
